Evolving Practice of Nursing and Patient Care Delivery Models Essay - 2

Evolving Practice of Nursing and Patient Care Delivery Models - Essay Example Moreover, nurses will need to be up to date with emerging health conditions. In the United States, nurses are likely to be faced with various health issues. Some such health issues are the rising level of chronic diseases and ageing population. Moreover, there has been the unprecedented advancement in technology, rise of alternative treatment methods, health policies as well as advances in nursing education and practice (Heller, Oros & Durney-Crowley, 2013). The paper reflects on how the practice of nursing is expected to grow and change as well as a perception of the colleague. There are various ways in which the practice of nursing is expected to grow and change. The growth and change are expected to occur due to changes that are currently taking place in the health sector. The increased progress in health care in the country has led to an increase in average life. For example, it is expected in the next five years; more than 20 per cent of the pollution will be 65 years and older (Heller, Oros & Durney-Crowley, 2013). Increased life expectancy means there will be increased the number of people with health conditions. Such people are expected to have chronic and acute conditions that will overwhelm the healthcare in the provision of efficient and effective continuing care (Heller, Oros & Durney-Crowley, 2013). The underlying issues mean that nursing practice is most likely to change and grow to offer better and continued care. For example, the increased population with health issues means that more attention for the nurse is required. One of the ways of me eting these demands will be offering nursing services in community settings like home care. Such services will help in offering the necessary care needed by patients that cannot be able to visit formal care environment such as hospital due to old age. In addition, such care will help in assessing the ways patients cope in their homes and understand their health needs.

Establish brief and effective business communication routines Essay - 1

Establish brief and effective business communication routines - Essay Example This paper will review some of the most effective business communication routines and how they help organizations to grow. The main purpose of a communication routine is to enable any organization better itself. This is in all the aspects the organization is involved in. They could be financial, social or even economical. In the event that there are no communication routines, there is bound to be confusion in that organization (Huseman, Lahiff & Penrose, 1991). Managers should oversee the running of the organization’s activities to ensure the smooth flow of operations. This includes overseeing the writing of communicated messages to the subordinates. One of the most effective communication routines is the function it plays. This may include who the message is addressing, what is being documented and how it should be done. In the event it does not seek to address these issues, then the whole point of having a business communication ceases to exist. It is very important that this routine be followed seriously (Bonnye, Sarow & Stuart, 2007). The stake it bears on the growth and continuity of any business organization is very high. Another communication routine would be the type or kind of message drafted. These could be for the subordinates in the organization, the customers or even the support staff. This is just so that the intention is gotten through precisely; an organization should have the mandate to inform the people it is concerned with of the nature of its business (Bonnye, Sarow & Stuart, 2007). This is to prevent any surprises if anything should come up. Officials holding big spots in an organization are responsible for the goings on in an organization. They are supposed to organize and ensure the junior officials do as required. Slackness from either party could result in very dire consequences for the organization. Also, what is included in these messages could

Decision and accounting making Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2500 words - 1

Decision and accounting making - Essay Example From the below income statement summary, Waldron’s sales have been rising almost in all the four categories of products that they deal in. It is evident that Waldron has been experiencing significance growth as per the divisional summary report. Durafit has been hit with several market challenges including stiff competition from foreign markets. This can be witnessed even with the latest financial report that shows Durafit’s sales drop from 1, 332 million euros in the year 2012 to 1,214 million euros in the year 2012; this represented a decrease of 9%. Durafit has been struggling to come into the market as an active player but there are some issues that still hold the division. The decrease in sales also saw Durafit record low profit margin at the end of the year 2013 as compared to the year 2012. Durafit’s main challenge is the nature of its products versus customers’ taste. Durafit took time in adjusting to modern construction techniques which gave its major competitors time to adjust and conquer the market with modern building techniques. The division’s profit margin was up by 1% when both 2012 and 2013 are compared. This is one of the Waldron’s divisions that give the company an interest to continue in business. With its nature of operations, Contracts at one time experienced downfall in the U.K market which posed a threat in attaining its profits. With opening of its branch outside the U.K and completion of major projects ahead of schedule, Contracts has won the trust of major clients and has really benefited from this. Contracts’ sales improved greatly from 1,949 million euros to 1,214 million euros in the year 2012 to 2013 respectively; this represented a 12% increase. Gross profit margin was also up from 50% to 54%. This was as a result of opening up for new markets outside the U.K which saw its sales increase as a result of more tender being awarded to the division. Unlike other divisions, elite is one of the

Program Theory Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words

Program Theory - Assignment Example To successfully carry out evaluation on this program, data collection was very crucial. The research methods that were applied in the data collection process included observation and use of semi-structured interviews by the research assistants (Chen, Wan & Lin, 1997). These two methods fall under the wider qualitative techniques that are deemed efficient in uncovering the people’s experience to different situations. In addition, the data collection methods did not require many participants hence making it less costly to carry out. The main drawback of the research method is the fact that the participation of only a section of the population (residents of Nei-fu) made it hard to draw statistical inferences to the rest of the country. My program the non-infectious diseases reduction program is derived from the Centers for Disease Control whose main goal is to protect public health. The main aim of this program will be to encourage outdoor sports activities meant to keep a person physically fit and free from lifestyle diseases. Some of the components of this particular evaluation that would be useful in my program evaluation are both the process and outcome evaluation. This will help in the determination of the success of implementation of the program based on the observed outcome. It will only be possible to conduct the program evaluation after a specific period of time in order to establish whether participants of the program have been able to adopted healthy lifestyles or behaviors during their engagement in outdoor sporting activities. Since changing a person’s behavior takes a while, the considerable time to conduct the evaluation is after four

Water Crisis in Middle East Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2500 words

Water Crisis in Middle East - Essay Example Still, conflicts related to water management have not been avoided. Current paper presents the various aspects of water crisis in Middle East. Reference is made, as example, to the water management problems of Israel, Palestine, Syria and Jordan. The academic studies developed in this field reflect different perceptions for the criteria on which water management should be based. This phenomenon could be explained by the following fact: the high development of technology has affected ‘the perception of people on nature’ (Selby 2005, p.332). Therefore, the terms under which water available in a particular area is characterized as a ‘resource’ have been differentiated today, compared to the past (Selby 2005). In this context, the rights of a state on its water resources are difficult to be fully defined while the support provided by international organizations for such issues is often inadequate (Selby 2005). On the other hand, the water resources worldwide fac e a continuous shrinkage, mostly because of the pollution but also because of the increasing global population. In certain countries, such as those of Middle East, the problem is more intense. In fact, there are countries in the particular region that can be characterized as ‘water – poor countries, meaning that their water production, per capita, is below 1000 m3/yr’ (Hadadin et al. 2010, p.197). ... 2. Water crisis in Middle East 2.1 History The lack of adequate water resources is not a recent problem. In addition, there are certain regions where the specific problem is quite critical: Africa, South and East Asia and Middle East are the regions that are mostly characterized by water shortage; in certain areas of these regions water shortage can be extreme leading local populations to survival concerns (Kummu et al. 2010, p.4). The water crisis developed in the above regions is characterized by the following trend: water shortage in each of these regions has been developed in different rate. More specifically, up to 1900s water shortage was extreme in Africa while from 1960s and up today water shortage is expanded across South Asia and Middle East (Kummu et al. 2010, p.4). In other words, the appearance and the rate of development of water shortage cannot be foreseen in advance (Kummu et al. 2010). In countries of Middle East water shortage is a common problem. For example, in Jo rdan ‘the drying of streams has led to the lowering of water levels across the country’ (Hadadin et al. 2010, p.197). In the above country, water shortage first appeared about 1960s and has highly expanded since then (Hadadin et al. 2010, p.197). The two factors that have been considered as enhancing the country’s water shortage problem are the following: a) the extremely dry climate and b) the rapid economic development of the country supported the increase of population, which, in its turn, led to the increase of need for water (Hadadin et al. 2010, p.197). In a recent report, where the ability of countries to cover their needs for water through their own
